James Scruggs is the owner of J.S. & Son’s Construction Company, LLC and a visionary in real estate and construction. With over 20 years of experience in Charlotte, NC, he’s developed an impressive portfolio spanning single-family homes, multifamily units, and assisted living communities. A graduate of the University of Virginia and UNC-Charlotte, James is known for his integrity, creative problem-solving, and commitment to revitalizing communities. Under his leadership, J.S. & Son’s has led transformative projects that prioritize quality and long-term impact. He also founded Ascension CDC to help create generational wealth through mixed-income housing, financial literacy, and homeownership education. James lives in Charlotte with his wife, Makila, and their two sons, Jaden and Malachi. As a family, they’re active in their church and community, living out a mission of growth and opportunity for all.
